Reports To: Executive Director
Baptist Retirement Communities of Georgia, Inc., d/b/a Ignite Living, is a Christian ministry dedicated to providing residents with the highest quality of services in an atmosphere of dignity, respect, and community. The Life Enrichment Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, promotion, and execution of programs, activities, and events that support a vibrant senior living lifestyle. This role oversees Life Enrichment operations, programming, communication, and engagement efforts, while fostering meaningful connections among residents, team members, guests, and the surrounding community. All decisions and actions must reflect the Ignite Living mission statement and core values.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities
- Treat residents, team members, and guests according to the Golden Rule (Matthew 7:12).
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident and team member information unless authorized.
- Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
- Display excellence by example in life enrichment programming, leadership, and communication.
- Manage Life Enrichment department operations while adhering to the approved budget.
- Submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner.
- Coordinate, recruit, and recognize volunteers.
- Create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, senior services, churches, businesses, and community partners.
Life Enrichment Programming
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee a comprehensive Life Enrichment program that supports residents’ physical, educational, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
- Prepare welcome bags for new residents.
- Maintain and organize Life Enrichment storage areas.
- Ensure adequate supplies and oversee seasonal and holiday décor for major holidays.
- Transport residents to off-site events using company-owned vehicles, as required.
Physical
- Promote exercise programs led by certified instructors.
- Support health- and nutrition-focused programming.
- Assist with health fairs and wellness initiatives.
Educational
- Coordinate educational events such as Lunch and Learns on a variety of topics.
- Encourage activities that enhance memory and cognitive engagement, including computer games and educational resources.
- Promote clubs with educational benefits such as current events, international, or language clubs.
- Encourage computer classes and technology use.
- Coordinate classes from local providers.
Social
- Plan and maintain a variety of regular social events including parties, seasonal celebrations, trips, game nights, movie nights, concerts, vendor fairs, and swap-and-shop events.
Emotional and Spiritual
- Support Bible studies, chapel, and worship services.
- Promote support groups as appropriate.
Promotion, Communication, and Engagement
- Promote and strongly encourage resident participation in all Life Enrichment programs and events through all available communication avenues.
- Utilize multiple forms of communication to encourage engagement, including the digital billboard communication system, automated group phone messages and text notifications, internal community flyers, newsletters, sign-up sheets, and Facebook promotions.
- Create, manage, and maintain the Life Enrichment activity calendar and ensure timely and accurate distribution.
- Post Life Enrichment content on community social media platforms as frequently as possible, with a minimum expectation of two posts per week, highlighting all activities including routine and day-to-day programming.
- Ensure all promotional content complies with organizational branding standards, privacy requirements, and resident consent guidelines.
- Collaborate with leadership and other departments to ensure consistent and effective promotion of Life Enrichment programming.
Newsletter Contribution
- Contribute Life Enrichment information and one Life Enrichment article to the monthly community newsletter.
- Provide Life Enrichment content in a timely manner to the designated newsletter owner or department.
- Assist with monthly newsletter distribution.
Conferences, Expos, and Marketing Representation
- Attend and, when requested, assist or represent the community at job-related conferences, trainings, expos, and events, including participation in a marketing or promotional capacity.
Other
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Ability to lift a minimum of 10 lbs and perform bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Licensed or registered by the state, if applicable.
- Working knowledge of personal computers and software applications used in job functions.
- Ability to read, write, see, and hear sufficiently to perform job duties and understand policies and procedures.
- Ability to think independently and make decisions aligned with the organization’s mission, values, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent communication, public relations, and public speaking skills.
- Strong time and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail.
- Must pass criminal background check and drug screen.
- Must possess reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean Motor Vehicle Report.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and after hours as needed.
Preferred
- Minimum of two years of related experience.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field.
- Eligibility for state certification as a Life Enrichment Manager.
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
- Experience working with older adults in a group setting.
Please Note: Ignite Living is an independent living senior community, not an assisted living or skilled nursing facility. Our residents live independently in their own apartments/cottages and are active, engaged, and self-directed. While support services may be available onsite, this role does not provide medical care, hands-on personal care, or clinical services. The Life Enrichment Manager’s focus is on creating meaningful programs, experiences, and community connections that enhance quality of life, independence, and social engagement.
