Job Title: Sous Chef (AM or PM)
Reports To: Executive Chef
Location: Peachtree Hills Place - Independent Living
Peachtree Hills Place is seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef in Independent Living to support daily kitchen operations and deliver exceptional culinary experiences for our residents and guests. The Sous Chef plays a key leadership role in food preparation, kitchen organization, staff supervision, and quality control. This position requires strong culinary expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and service.

Assist in the planning, preparation, and execution of all food and beverage menus.
Produce high-quality dishes that meet established standards for presentation, taste, and portioning.
Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and in accordance with quality and service expectations.
Step in for the Executive Chef when needed to direct and coordinate food preparation.
Identify and resolve operational challenges in a timely and professional manner.
Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff.
Develop and manage staff schedules and monitor performance.
Order and manage inventory to maintain appropriate stock levels.
Enforce all sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety standards.
Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role.
Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and kitchen procedures.
Proven experience managing kitchen staff and operations.
Ability to perform well under pressure and respond effectively to urgent situations.
Familiarity with industry best practices and food safety standards.
Working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office, POS systems, and restaurant management software.
Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred.
Ability to stand and walk for up to 90% of the workday.
Ability to push or pull up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and use of hands and arms.
Ability to taste, smell, and visually inspect food products, including close and distance vision.
Manual dexterity to perform tasks such as cutting, stirring, measuring, pouring, chopping, and plating.
